mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR)

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Course, was developed by Dr Jon Kabat Zinn (founder of secular mindfulness) at the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Medical School in 1979, which consists of eight lessons and a one-day retreat.
MBSR is a well-defined and systematic mindfulness approach to teach people how to take better care of themselves and live healthier and more adaptive lives.

Duration

  • 8 sessions of 150 minutes each, with a one-day retreat

Expected outcomes:

  • Approach your life with more composure, energy, understanding and enthusiasm
  • Develop the ability to cope more effectively with both short-term and long-term stressful situations
  • Enhance your ability to manage and reduce pain levels in many instances
  • Improve your focus, resilience and capacity to recover more quickly from challenging events

Course fee

  • $550 ($110 for eligible seniors under the National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy)
    *NSA-subsidy eligibility: Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident aged 50 years and above (in the year of the conducted course)
  • SkillsFuture Credit may be applied towards this course.
