Adj. A/Prof Angie Chew is the visionary Founder and CEO of Brahm Centre, a leading mental health charity with a dedicated team of over 50 staff committed to fostering happier and healthier lives. Her contributions to mental health advocacy earned her the prestigious title of “The Straits Times Singaporean of the Year 2019”.
As Singapore’s first certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher, trained by the Mindfulness Centre at Brown University School of Public Health, and an Oxford Mindfulness Centre-certified Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) teacher, further underscores her expertise in evidence-based mental health interventions.
A/Prof Angie has made significant contributions in mental wellness across the corporate, government, education, and public healthcare sectors with mindfulness applications. She serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore, where she teaches the mindfulness-based “Undefeated Mind” Course, equipping students with essential skills for resilience and mental well-being. She is also an advisor to the Monash Centre for Consciousness and Contemplative Studies.
With more than 15,000 individuals benefitting from her mindfulness workshops and courses, Angie is a pivotal figure in the mental wellness movement. Her leadership in organizing the Singapore Mindfulness Conferences and the Asia Pacific Mindfulness Conferences, which collectively attracted over 5,000 delegates, has further cemented her legacy as a driving force in mental health and mindfulness advocacy.
Ms Christina Liew is a qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher, certified by the Brown University School of Public Health, and a certified Mindfulness Teacher at Brahm Centre.
She is also trained to deliver the Dot-b mindfulness program, developed by the Mindfulness in Schools Project (UK). As the Head of Mindfulness Programs at Brahm Centre, Christina spearheads the development and delivery of mindfulness programs for both public and private sectors.
She regularly conducts the Mindfulness Foundation Course and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction courses for the public, equipping individuals with tools to enhance self-awareness and build mental resilience. Christina also leads mindfulness corporate workshops, including for healthcare professionals, educators, corporate teams, government ministries, students, and parents.

Christina’s passion for mindfulness grew from her personal experiences, particularly in healing and strengthening her relationships with her sons through mindfulness. This has fuelled her interest in applying mindfulness in parenting, helping families foster improved communication and emotional well-being.
A graduate from Nanyang Technological University, Christina also draws from her experience as an Associate Lecturer at a local Polytechnic, enriching her mindfulness teaching with a solid educational foundation.
Lily Gan has been a senior Mindfulness Teacher at Brahm Centre since 2018. She has practiced mindfulness since 2015 and teaches the Mindfulness Foundation Course in both English and Chinese. In March 2022, she completed a one-year teacher training program in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT-L) at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre in the UK.
Lily is also a Senior Counsellor at Brahm Centre. She graduated with a Master of Social Science in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Edith Cowan University, Australia, in 2011. She integrates mindfulness as a core modality in her counselling sessions. With extensive experience, she specializes in supporting clients experiencing anxiety and depression symptoms.

Hsueh Ya Wen is a former Ministry of Education educator with 20 years of experience. Having taught students from diverse backgrounds in both primary and secondary schools, she has a deep understanding of the challenges that students face today.

Kate Loreto is a certified Brahm Centre Mindfulness Teacher and mental health peer support specialist. She also conducts group psycho-educational workshops and gives talks on mental health awareness, self-care, and recovery talks. Her mindfulness journey began in 2018, using mindfulness as a primary tool in her recovery from chronic depression and anxiety disorders. She has since conducted mindfulness sessions to support mental health patients and couples undergoing IVF procedures.
Linda Liew was an educator and banking professional with a combined 30 years of experience before transitioning to becoming a Program Development Head and Mindfulness Teacher.
She has faced numerous challenges navigating family and work politics, which took a toll on her health, resulting in physical exhaustion and burnout. Mindfulness has been a game-changer for her, helping her realize that life’s meaning does not come from external achievements but from living an authentic and compassionate life.
May Chng was a former school vice-principal and a Ministry of Education educator for more than 20 years.
She is a Dot-b certified teacher from the Mindfulness in Schools Project (UK) and a certified Mindfulness Teacher at Brahm Centre. In addition to her educational qualifications, May holds a Diploma in Counselling Psychology. Her interests lie in youth mental health and mindfulness for teens.
Dr. Christopher Willard, PsyD, is a psychologist and educational consultant based in Boston, specialising in mindfulness for adolescents and young adults. He has been practising meditation for more than 20 years and is a sought-after speaker, presenting at TEDx conferences and leading workshops internationally.
Dr. Willard published three books; Child’s Mind (2010), Growing Up Mindful (2016), and Raising Resilience (2017), and co-authored eight other books for parents, professionals and children, along with six sets of cards and therapeutic games, available in more than 10 languages. His thoughts have also appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, mindful.org and elsewhere. He teaches at Harvard Medical School and Wesleyan University.
David Treleaven, PhD, is a writer, educator, and trauma professional working at the intersection of mindfulness and trauma. He is the author of the acclaimed book Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness and founder of the Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness (TSM) Community—a group of practitioners committed to setting a standard of care through mindfulness-based practices, interventions, and programs.
David focuses on offering mindfulness providers with the knowledge and tools they require to meet the needs of those struggling with trauma. Through workshops, keynotes, podcasts, and online education, he is closely engaged with current empirical research to inform best practices.
His work has been adopted into multiple mindfulness teacher training programs around the world, including UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center, the Engaged Mindfulness Institute, and Bangor University’s MA in Mindfulness program in the UK.
Judson Brewer, MD PhD, is an internationally known thought leader in the field of habit change and the “science of self-mastery”, having combined over 20 years of experience with mindfulness training with his scientific research. He is the Director of Research and Innovation at the Brown University’s Mindfulness Center and Associate Professor in Behavioral and Social Science at the School of Public Health and Psychiatry at the Medical School at Brown University.
Dr Brewer has developed and tested novel mindfulness programs for behaviour change, including both in-person and app-based treatments for smoking, emotional eating and anxiety. He has also studied the underlying neural mechanisms of mindfulness using standard and real-time fMRI, and source-estimated EEG, and is currently translating these findings into clinical use.
He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, presented to the US President’s Office of National Drug Control Policy, foreign Parliaments, trained US Olympic athletes and coaches and foreign government ministers, and has been featured on 60 minutes, at TED (4th most viewed talk of 2016 with more than 16 million views), in The New York Times, Time magazine (top 100 new health discoveries of 2013), Forbes, Businessweek, NPR, National Geographic and the BBC, among others.

Dr. Ronald D. Siegel is an Assistant Professor of Psychology, part time, at Harvard Medical School, where he has taught for over 35 years. He is a long-time student of mindfulness meditation and serves on the Board of Directors and faculty of the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy. He teaches internationally about the application of mindfulness practice in psychotherapy and other fields, and maintains a private clinical practice in Lincoln, Massachusetts.
Sara W. Lazar, PhD, is an Associate Researcher in the Psychiatry Department at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Assistant Professor in Psychology at Harvard Medical School. The focus of her research is to elucidate the neural mechanisms underlying the beneficial effects of yoga and meditation, both in clinical settings and in healthy individuals.
She is a contributing author to Meditation and Psychotherapy (Guilford Press). She has been practising yoga and mindfulness meditation since 1994. Her research has been covered by numerous news outlets, including The New York Times, USA Today, CNN and WebMD, and her work has been featured in a display at the Boston Museum of Science.
