A Silent Journey For An Inner Awakening

I was angry with the massive oil spill in the San Francisco Bay Area. I expressed my anger with the intent to influence and convince. This resulted in most of my relationships being tumultuous and my inner world chaotic.

When I decided to be silent, both my inner world and outer world were transformed.

You might wonder why I chose to remain silent for 17 years and what challenges I faced as I walked across the US and pursued my Master’s degree and PhD. I look forward to sharing my journey with you at SMC 2020.

WORKSHOPS

FINDING YOUR INNER JOURNEY
Through guided meditation, reflection and sharing stories, we attempt to learn to identify our geographical and inner journeys.

OUR JOURNEY IN NATURE
Taking our inner journey on a quiet walk through the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve.

Making Mindfulness Work for Everyone:
New Innovations in Research and Application

We all know the benefits of mindfulness, but do we know how wide it can reach, how deeply the practices can impact us personally and interpersonally, and how we can help our clients and ourselves maintain our practice. New research and techniques shine a light on mindfulness and compassion as emotional contagions, rewiring ourselves, our cells, and even the people around us for greater resilience and performance.

WORKSHOP

GROWING UP MINDFUL IN THE AGE OF ANXIETY
RESILIENCE SKILLS FOR EVERYONE
In a time when almost a third of our kids and teens are struggling with anxiety and other mental health issues, Dr Willard offers mindfulness-based solutions for professionals and parents to not just manage stress, but build resilience in a time of danger and of digital distraction. Sharing cutting edge neuroscience with the simplicity of techniques now used by everyone from artists to athletes, everywhere from basic training to boardrooms, we will spend the workshop exploring fun ways to bring mindfulness, mental health and balance to young people, helping face life’s challenges with wisdom and clarity.
