Dr Tanya Tierney
Dr Tanya Tierney is the Assistant Dean, Student Well-being, at the NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.
Through her various roles at LKCMedicine (student well-being, clinical communication teaching and medical humanities teaching), Dr Tierney aims to encourage students to practice with their hearts as well as their heads, be passionate about their work and aware of their own wellbeing. As head of student wellbeing, she was instrumental in the design and implementation of the LKCMedicine House system, which provides holistic pastoral care and student support. She is an advocate for mindfulness practice as a way to attend to one’s own wellbeing and also encourage students to be mindfully present when interacting with others (patients, learners or colleagues).
