Kevin Fong
Kevin Fong is the Founding Teacher of the Gaia Tree Centre for Mindfulness and a Certified MBSR teacher and MBSR teacher-trainer, trained by University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Healthcare and Society. He is a teacher in the Interpersonal Mindfulness Program, a certified teacher for Paws b programs as part of the UK Mindfulness in School Project, and a Certified Senior Trainer in Corporate Based Mindfulness Training of the Potential Project. Kevin has completed the Oxford Mindfulness Centre MBCT Teacher’s Training Module 1-3 and is currently teaching MBCT 8-week program.
A Hong Kong native who grew up and worked around the world, Kevin is a pioneer in bringing Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programs to Mainland China. Since 2011, Kevin has worked as a workshop translator, an MBSR program trainer for mindfulness research with the China Normal University in Beijing, and conducted mindfulness training programs for the police force, criminal justice system, healthcare and hospital systems, and corporations in Mainland China.
Before becoming a full-time teacher and promoter of Mindfulness application in Chinese speaking countries, Kevin was a senior corporate executive for 19 years, working for MNCs based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong, and Beijing, specializing in corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions in automotive distribution and hotel and hospitality industries. He has held various positions with the Accor Hotels Group, Inchcape plc, and Insurance Australia Group.
Besides teaching Mindfulness, Kevin also teaches QiGong, which was well received in China as an alternative mindful movement. Kevin graduated from the University of Warwick Business School in the UK with an MBA.
