Florence Meleo- Meyer
Florence Meleo-Meyer, MS, MA, LMFT, has taught MBSR and trained MBSR teachers and teacher trainers from around the world for over 25 years. A student of contemplative practices for over 45 years, she is an assistant professor of the practice, and a senior teacher trainer at the Mindfulness Center, within the School of Public Health at Brown University.
She has taught meditation and mindfulness to the general public, clinical populations and professionals working in the fields of psychology, medicine, business, and education. As a leader in the field, she has mentored MBSR teachers and teacher-trainers from around the world.
Before joining Brown University, Florence served as Director of Oasis Institute for Mindfulness-Based Professional Education and Training at the Center for Mindfulness (CFM), UMass Medical School. As a presenter at international conferences, she has highlighted the interconnected elements of MBSR that contribute to a wholistic approach to engaging with one’s health and well-being. She has also contributed articles and chapters on MBSR, relational mindfulness, and co-authored a book on MBSR and Anxiety. She holds degrees in psychology and education and is a licensed family therapist.
