Dr Fannie Khng Kiat Hui
Dr Fannie Khng Kiat Hui is a Research Scientist at the Centre for Research in Child Development (CRCD), National Institute of Education (NIE). Her research focuses on the cognitive science of learning, development, and performance, on both behavioural and neurophysiological levels. She is particularly interested in the study of executive functions, especially inhibitory control and attention, and their contributions to academic performance and well-being via cognitive and cognitive-emotional self-regulation in children and adolescents. This includes school-based interventions to enhance cognitive/ cognitive-emotional self-regulatory capacities, ranging from working memory training, deep and focused attention breathing, to mindfulness.
