Dr Ong Mei Horng
Dr Ong Mei Horng is currently a Director at the Advanced Remanufacturing Technology Centre (ARTC), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and an Adjunct Professor, National University of Singapore (NUS) Food Science and Technology Programme. Dr Ong is also a certified Mindfulness Facilitator.
She holds a Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology from University of Nottingham (UK) in 1994 and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Food Science and Management from King’s College London, University of London (UK) in 1990.
A food scientist by profession with more than 25 years of working experience in well-established multinational and regional corporations in UK, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore, Dr Ong worked for esteemed companies such as Nestlé, Mars, Cadbury, Vitasoy, CMB Packaging and more recently Fraser & Neave (F&N).
Dr Ong’s main passion is to transform the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Food and Health/Personal Care industries to advanced, affordable and up-to-date technologies for the benefit of consumers. In addition, she is an active volunteer, serving the community to help those around her to achieve better well-being. Dr Ong also has a keen interest in nurturing and growing talents.
Dr Ong’s mindfulness journey started more than two years ago and she has since benefitted greatly from the learnings and practices. She is exploring the benefits of mindfulness including mindful eating for overall well-being.
