The God of Fortune Beckons: Year of the Snake MacPherson and Simei Celebrations

Our MacPherson and Simei centres ushered in a prosperous Year of the Snake this month, kickstarting the lunar new year with bustling celebrations consisting of food, performances, and traditions, blessing our seniors with good fortune and well-wishes.

In MacPherson, our seniors spent an eventful afternoon afternoon full of Chinese New Year blessings, gifts, and bonding sessions with our volunteers, interns, and staff members, getting to participate in a tossing of lo hei and partaking in mouthwatering food prepared by our volunteers. Participants also received sponsored vouchers in the form of red packets, as a form of wishing them abundance in their lives.

As for Simei, our seniors attended the Simei RC-4 lunar new year celebration, which consisted of several highlights: a lion dance performance, a singalong segment led by our own participants, as well as a God of Fortune (财神爷) gracing participants with well-wishes. Advisor Jessica Tan also attended the event as its Guest-of-Honour, supporting the festivities and overseeing its activities.

Through these celebrations, we wish our seniors and everyone a happy new year, and may this year bring bountiful tidings for all.
