Mindfulness for Mental Wellbeing: Learning to Be Present in the Moment

The start of a series of workshops for World Mental Health Month, October—the Mindfulness for Mental Wellbeing Workshop was conducted in Tampines this Tuesday, with more than 30 seniors attending and getting their first advent of mindfulness as a whole.

Participants took part in a mindful exercise, focusing on their thoughts in the present moment, as well as learning how to do a body scan and pay attention to their feelings and sensations in the moment.

Through the foundational concepts taught to the seniors, participants gained a better understanding of mindfulness, as well as the importance of taking care of their mental health during times of stress. All in all, the event provided a view into mental health and helpful ways to use mindfulness to regulate it.
